Club Profile
Lydney Town AFC Youth are located in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire. We provide football to children of all ages and abilities, in a safe environment delivering age appropriate training and supporting long term development. Our aim is to get local children to reach their maximum potential, enabling them to play at the highest level they can.
We are affiliated to the Gloucestershire Football Association, and members of the Severn Valley Youth, Cheltenham Youth and Gloucestershire County Girls affiliated leagues.
The club now create more chances for more children to play football in approved FA leagues and competitions, with a minimum of 1 team in every age group recognised by theFA ranging from u7’s to u18’s.
In addition, we have created a Lydney Lions group for Reception and Year 1 children coached by a qualified accredited coach. This gives boys and girls a chance to meet new friends, build confidence and stay active, preparing them to join our foundation leagues when they are ready and old enough.
This presents Lydney Town AFC Youth players with a great pathway to play at a very high standard of football and maybe one day achieve their dream of playing semi-pro or pro football.
We continue to work closely with the seniors in the transition phase from youth to senior football through the established u18's team who play in the midweek Gloucester floodlit league.
